The battle of 2 year old wits

This week like many years previous is an interesting one. My spouse saves up her vacation days throughout the course of the year under the auspices that we may take a long vacation at some point during the year. But since we have had children, it has been a lot harder to come up with said vacation.

Therefore, she has to burn saved vacations days at the end of the year, for fear of losing them.

I have to go back to work because I do not have her resolve, but I am envious of her time with our kids over the next few days.

D is the smartest, most observant two-year-old I know. She is constantly reminding me of my own inadequacies. I hope this blog will serve as a testament to my children, that I tried the best I could, considering I am a man with no daughter/lady experience.

This evening I had a particularly large blow-out with D. I spent 2 hours with her between bath time, favorite movies, story time and pajama selection, but alas, the alpha daughter still resisted the proverbial bedtime regime.
When I was at my wits end, I had negotiated a surrender of sorts with D. I said that if she picked up her pj's and brought them over to me so that I could put them on accordingly, we would then retire to bedtime for the kids.

Of course she revolted.

I'm sorry...I'm your father figure.

So tonight, after a long discussion with my beautiful and brilliant wife, I decided that I needed to create a blog to chronicle all the amazing stuff that emits from the mouths of my 2 gorgeous daughters.
I have been very fortunate to have produced 2 awesome children. The elder is 2 and one half years old, and the younger a mere 7 months.

I have been married successfully for the last 7 years, and I have no intention of stopping.

I have another blog, that I tend to neglect, but I hope that this blog, due to its content, will inspire many more postings than the previously mentioned.

Please join me in this expedition into the unknown...
